How the test works

The method operates on the principle of histamine oxidation, catalyzed by an enzyme, and is linked to the reduction of a specific substrate. This chemical reduction manifests as a color change on the test pad, shifting from white to purple. The intensity of the purple color is directly proportional to the histamine concentration in the sample. The histamine concentration is then estimated by comparing the test pad‘s color with a provided color scale.
