Luria Broth (Miller’s Modified)
Miller’s Broth is used in molecular genetic studies.
The inclusion of casein peptone and yeast extract supplies essential growth factors, such as nitrogen, carbon, sulfur, minerals and vitamins. Sodium chloride is provided at minimal concentration.
In compliance with regulatory requirements, a USDA permit (VS 16-3) is mandatory for shipments from Canada to the USA due to the inclusion of peptone, an animal byproduct.
Luria Broth (Miller’s Modified) is a liquid medium used for maintaining Escherichia coli in molecular genetic studies. Enzymatic Digest of Casein supplies amino acids and peptides.
Yeast Extract is a source of B-complex vitamins and minerals. Sodium Chloride provides essential electrolytes and maintains the osmotic equilibrium.
