Papaic Digest of Soybeans
Papaic Digest of Soybean is a nutritious enzymatic digest of soybean containing a high carbohydrate and vitamin content. It is capable of supporting the growth of a wide variety of bacteria and fungi.
Due to its high carbohydrate content, it cannot be used for fermentation studies. It produces clear solutions at culture media concentrations and neutral reactions after autoclaving. It is also referred to as Peptone S and Soy Peptone.
In compliance with regulatory requirements, a USDA permit (VS 16-3) is mandatory for shipments from Canada to the USA due to the inclusion of peptone, an animal byproduct.
Papaic Digest of Soybean is an enzymatic hydrolysate of soybean meal prepared under controlled conditions and recommended for the cultivation of a large variety of organisms, including fungi and bacteria. Due to its high carbohydrate content, Papaic Digest of Soybean Meal cannot be used for fermentation studies.
This media ingredient produces clear solutions at culture media concentrations and neutral reactions after autoclaving. Papaic Digest of Soybean Meal minimizes Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) risk in vaccine production because of the plant origin of this product.
