TTC 50 mg supplement is an indicator of bacterial growth. It is used with Slanetz and Bartley Agar (base) or KF Streptococcus Agar (base) for the enumeration of enterococci in tap water, beverages, sewage and various biological products, using both the membrane filtration technique and the classical technique of enumeration in Petri plates.

Freeze-dried supplement: 10 vials

QUANTITY

Enterococci reduce the TTC (2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride) to an insoluble formazan inside the cell. This reaction is manifested by the appearance of red to maroon colonies.
